At Savannah's Park and Tree, diligent maintenance of the city's green spaces and urban forest is paramount. Responsibilities include vegetation upkeep in city-owned areas, parks, rights of way, and historic landmarks like the Riverfront and Squares. Management of all public trees and enforcement of landscape ordinances for monument conservation are key functions.
The Parks Maintenance program ensures the health of neighborhood parks, the Riverfront, and historic Squares, covering everything from fertilization to special landscape projects. The Right-of-Way Maintenance program maintains vegetation along roads, canals, and medians citywide.
In Urban Forestry, tree care services, including removal, pruning, and planting, are handled while overseeing landscape ordinances and permitting processes.
