Forsyth Park MOU

View Full Memorandum of Understanding

In 2015, the Trustee's Garden Club and other community leaders initiated the legacy Forsyth Park Project with two central goals:

1. Create the first-ever comprehensive Master Plan for the park and

2. Create a nonprofit organization to support the park through volunteerism, fundraising, and outreach.

The Forsyth Park Master plan was completed in 2022 and submitted to the City of Savannah. Though never formally adopted by the City Council, the Master Plan contains a significant amount of technical research and analysis regularly used by City Staff as a guideline for developing work plans and evaluating proposed projects. Also in 2022, the Friends of Forsyth Park Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was created to help accomplish the 2nd goal of supporting the park through volunteerism, fundraising, and outreach.
