Mobile Mammography Unit, the "Screen Machine" from the experts at St. Joseph's / Candler, provides digital breast cancer screenings. Annual mammograms are the key to lifesaving, early detection of breast cancer. Having a mammogram on the Screen Machine is safe and confidential and offers the same level of care provided at the Telfair Pavilion’s Comprehensive Breast Center. The films are processed on-board, so our patient is assured that the image is technically accurate before leaving the premises.

Who Should Get a Mammogram Screening?

Women should begin annual screening at age 40 (women between ages 35-39 are eligible for a baseline mammogram). Today, the standard is digital mammography, which gives physicians a clearer view of the breast and helps find abnormalities.

Flu Clinic: No appointment is required.

  • Wednesday, September 16 | 6 a.m. – 10 a.m.| SPD Central Precinct, 1710 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
  • Wednesday, October 14 | 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | Civic Center, 301 W. Oglethorpe (Bryan Room)
  • Wednesday, November 4 | 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | Adam’s Complex, 20 Interchange Dr.  Operations Building, (Meeting Room)

St. Joseph's / Candler clinical staff partners with the City of Savannah to provide flu vaccination at mobile flu clinics for City employees. Protect yourself and your family during the flu season by getting the flu vaccine. The flu is caused by a virus that infects the nose, throat, and lungs. Most people with the flu get better on their own but the flu can cause serious complications for some people.

Why Get Vaccinated? The Flu Vaccine Can Help:

  • Keep you from getting the flu
  • Make flu symptoms less severe if you do get it
  • Keep you from spreading the flu to your family and others

All City employees and dependents on the City Health plan can also get a flu vaccination at any in-network pharmacy that provides vaccinations by showing the medical card.
