[ARCHIVED] Bring One for the Chipper set for January 9

Date: January 4, 2016

The City’s annual Christmas tree recycling event, Bring One for the Chipper, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at various locations. Christmas tree mulch will be used by the City for parks and neighborhood beautification projects throughout Savannah.

Undecorated trees can be dropped off for free at the following locations:

• Bacon Park Transfer Station @ 6400 Shorty Cooper Road
• Dean Forest Landfill @ 1327 Dean Forest Road
• Trees can be dropped off to the Landfills prior to the 9th,
• The Home Depot @ 11180 Abercorn Street
• The Home Depot @ Victory Drive
• The Home Depot @ Pooler Parkway


Bring One for the Chipper has been a holiday tradition in Georgia for 20 years and is the largest tree recycling program in the nation. The local event is sponsored by the City of Savannah, Keep Savannah Beautiful, Georgia Power and Home Depot.
