City of Savannah St. Patrick's Day Sanitation Schedule Updates

Celebration Weekend Begins Today

SAVANNAH – On Monday, March 17, Savannah will celebrate the 201st St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the largest event of the year for the city.

The City’s Sanitation Department will be deployed in full force on Monday to address cleanup during and after the parade.

Regular residential refuse collection and recycling services will not run on Monday. Regular collection routes will resume on Tuesday on a one-day delayed schedule.  Street sweeping will run its regular schedule Monday evening, and all parking violations will be cited.

Residents are encouraged to consult the sanitation schedule packets disseminated each year and make note of what day sanitation collection will happen on their route. A digital version of the schedule can be found at savannahga.gov/sanitation.

The City of Savannah will be treating Friday through Monday as event days. Residents and visitors are reminded that roadway closures will impact travel and heavy traffic, and delays are expected.

Paradegoers are encouraged to come early, have a plan, park responsibility, and celebrate safely. To find information about parking, road closures, port-o-john locations, and much more, visit savannahga.gov/stpats

This year, the City and Savannah Police Department will deploy enhanced security measures in the areas impacted by the parade. Paradegoers are encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings throughout the weekend. Anonymous tips with photos can be made through the SPD App.
