 City Offices to Close in Observance of President’s Day

 

SAVANNAH – City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17 in observance of President’s Day. Emergency services will remain open.

Sanitation services will be impacted by the holiday closure. Residents can expect the following changes to their schedule:

Residential garbage collection and yard waste collection services will not run on Monday, Feb. 17. Collection services will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 18, on a one-day delayed schedule.

Recycling services will not run on Monday, Feb. 17. Recycling services will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 18 running Monday’s route. Collections will proceed on a one-day delayed schedule for the remainder of the week.

The Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17. Dean Forest Landfill will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 18 on a regular schedule. Bacon Park Transfer Station will reopen on Wednesday, Feb. 19 per its usual schedule. Street sweeping services will not run on Monday, Feb. 17. Regular sweeping schedule will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Residents are encouraged to consult the sanitation schedule packets disseminated each year and make note of what day sanitation collection will happen on their route. You can find a digital copy of the schedule at savannahga.gov/sanitation.
