[ARCHIVED] Gateway Welcome Sign Unveiling

For Immediate Release
Date: February 7, 2013


WHAT: Sign Unveiling Ceremony for the first of three new gateway signs being installed at City of Savannah entry points.

WHEN: 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 8

WHERE: Intersection of 37th Street Ramp off Interstate 16 and Ogeechee Road (See map below for suggested parking area off Ogeechee Road)

WHO: Savannah Mayor Edna B. Jackson, Acting City Manager Stephanie Cutter, and District Aldermen will join with City staff.

WHY: The large masonry signs will provide a more fitting welcome to Savannah than the current metal signs for the thousands of residents and visitors who drive into our City each day. Similar signs will be installed on Abercorn Street at the Forest River Bridge, and on Oglethorpe Avenue east of the Talmadge Bridge.
