[ARCHIVED] Seniors to celebrate Older American’s Day at Civic Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: May 4, 2015

Over 800 seniors are expected to join City of Savannah Leisure Services staff on Wednesday, May 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Savannah Civic Center for a fun filled event celebrating Older American’s Day.

Older Americans Day event guests are participants in the City of Savannah’s Golden Age and Adult Day Care Centers and Chatham County’s Senior Centers. A formal program is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., it will include presentations by Mayor Edna Jackson and Chatham County.

This annual event is intended to spotlight and recognize the unique contributions our older citizens make to the community. May is National Older Americans Month.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is for program participants only, and is not open to the public.

Members of the public interested in joining a Golden Age Center should call the City’s Golden Age Program at 651-6777.
