[ARCHIVED] Residents asked to join local cleanup effort

For Immediate Release
Date: March 10, 2015

The Great American Cleanup, the nation’s largest annual community improvement campaign, is being held this year from now until May 31, 2015. The City of Savannah and Keep Savannah Beautiful are encouraging residents and community groups to support the effort locally by doing spring cleaning, organizing and volunteering for neighborhood cleanups, conducting graffiti removal projects, and beautifying parks, streets and highways. The City will assist by providing supplies, such as trashbags, and water, supplied through a partnership with Lowe’s home improvement stores.

To learn how to organize a cleanup in your neighborhood and to join the number of residents and community groups that will be volunteering their time during this year’s Great American Cleanup in Savannah, please contact Nathaniel Glover at (912) 651-1967 or NGlover@Savannahga.Gov.
