[ARCHIVED] First Tuesday City Hall Tour moved to Second Tuesday

For Immediate Release
Date: December 27, 2012

January’s First Tuesday Tour of City Hall has been moved to the second Tuesday of January because of the New Year’s holiday. The behind-the-scenes tour of historic City Hall will be held at noon Jan. 8, and lasts about an hour. It is free and open to the public, but reservation is required.

The tour gives an overview of the history, architecture and art of one of Savannah’s most important buildings. Participants will also hear stories about some of the City’s most fascinating characters, learn about their City government, and view two exhibits in Council Chambers dedicated to the Nuclear Ship Savannah and the former Savannah Pharmacy located on MLK Boulevard. The First Tuesday Tour of City of Hall series is normally held the first Tuesday of every month.

To reserve a space, contact City of Savannah Research Library & Municipal Archives Director Luciana Spracher at (912) 651-6411 or email Lspracher@savannahga.gov.
