City crews responded to a minor sewage spill caused by a grease blockage in a sewer main at 1 International Drive on Hutchinson Island on Friday, Jan. 30.

The spill was reported at 2:30 p.m. Friday, and was corrected by 4 p.m. An estimated 1,350 gallons of sewage spilled from three overflowing manholes into the storm drainage system on Hutchinson Island, which flows into the Savannah River. This is classified as a minor spill under State guidelines.
