[ARCHIVED] Bring One for the Chipper event recycles Christmas trees

Date: December 27, 2012

The annual Bring One for the Chipper Christmas tree recycling event will be held this Saturday, Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents who bring a tree to recycle will receive free plant seeds while supplies last.

The free service is available at the following locations:
• Home Depot, 11180 Abercorn
• Home Depot, 190 Pooler Parkway
• Home Depot, 1901 Victory Drive
• Dean Forest Landfill, 1325 Dean Forest Rd.
• Bacon Park Landfill, Shorty Cooper Rd.

Christmas tree mulch will be used by the City for parks and neighborhood beautification projects throughout Savannah. The program has been a holiday tradition in Georgia for 20 years and is the largest tree recycling program in the nation.
