Over 250 local entrepreneurs and business owners gathered yesterday for the annual Mayor’s Small Business Conference. This year’s theme was “Taking Your Business to the Next Level” with workshops and panel discussions focused on strategies to advance and expand businesses.
“Each entrepreneur who chooses to build a business in Savannah makes an immense contribution to both our local economy and our community,” said Mayor Edna Jackson. “I’m thrilled to host this conference to connect and inform our small business owners, and I’m committed to continuing to do all I can to support and grow business opportunities in Savannah.”
A keynote address was delivered by Hurley S. Cook, III, CEO of Savannah Tire and Rubber Company. Speakers and on-site resources included representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Small Business Assistance Corporation, the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center and the Savannah Economic Development Department.
