[ARCHIVED] City releases "Facts and Issues: SCMPD Merger"

City Manager Stephanie Cutter and City Attorney Brooks Stillwell have released to City Council a background document outlining critical background concerning the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department Intergovernmental Agreement, adopted in 2003. The document can be viewed here: Facts and Issues: SCMPD Merger

In addition to outlining critical data, cost allocation and management background, the document identifies critical issues with the County's proposed revisions to the Agreement.

The City and County have begun negotiating revisions to the 11-year-old agreement. The City expects to release its formal response to the County's proposal shortly, and will release the document to the public at that time.
