[ARCHIVED] Operation Clean Sweep moves to Avondale neighborhood

Date: August 20, 2014

The City of Savannah’s Operation Clean Sweep will join forces with residents and local organizations for a cleanup in the Avondale neighborhood on Saturday, August 23 from 9 a.m. until noon.

Cleanup efforts will kick off at 9 a.m. from California to New York Avenue and Pennsylvania to North Carolina Avenue. Activities will include outreach and education, recycling, pick up of litter and debris, mowing, weeding, and cutting/cleaning bushes. Supplies will be provided by the City of Savannah.

Participants will include the City of Savannah, Savannah Fire & Emergency Services, Savannah Metro Police, Keep Savannah Beautiful, and volunteers from the Inheritance Center.
