The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah have tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 2.48 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at City Hall, located at the corner of Bay and Bull Streets, Savannah, Georgia on July 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM

The place and time of an additional public hearing on this tax increase is at City Hall, located at the corner of Bay and Bull Streets, Savannah, Georgia on August 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 12.48 mills, an increase of .302 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 12.178 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $50,000 is approximately $6.00 and the proposed tax increase for a non-homestead property with a fair market value of $400,000 is approximately $120.00.
