FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: June 2, 2014
There’s a new twist to the City of Savannah’s Picnic in the Park, set for October 5, 2014: the public is being invited to suggest the event theme to Parker’s, the Picnic Contest Host and Presenting Sponsor.
To share your suggestion for the 2014 Picnic in the Park theme, go to the Parker’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/Parkersav and comment with your idea, or email Parker’s at theme@Parkersav.com. Entries will be accepted from now until Sunday, June 8. Everyone who submits an idea will have an opportunity to be selected as the Guest of Honor for this year’s Picnic in the Park and given a VIP spot to set-up their picnic, front and center in Forsyth Park. At the event, all Picnic Contest entrants will be eligible to win an array of prizes, organized and presented by Parker’s.
“We are pleased to be hosting the popular Picnic Contest for the first time this year, an integral part of the Picnic in the Park event,” said Greg Parker, president and CEO of The Parker Companies. “Savannah has such a creative citizenry that I’m sure we will receive outstanding and fun theme ideas!”
