[ARCHIVED] City offers refunds for Thursday night garage parkers

For Immediate Release
Date: November 30, 2012

The City of Savannah is offering refunds for those who parked in the Liberty Street Garage for Thursday night’s Disney on Ice production and were charged a $5 fee.

The City’s 3-For-Free Holiday Garage Parking offer allows three hours of free parking in any City garage all day Thursday and Friday through the end of December. For Thursday night’s Disney on Ice performance at the Civic Center, workers erroneously used the special event parking protocol that was used for Wednesday night’s performance, which charges a flat $5 fee for parking in the Civic Center Lot and Liberty Street Garage.

A total of 177 Liberty Street Garage parkers paid the $5 fee, when the first three hours should have been free. The City apologizes for the error. Garage parkers will not be charged for tonight’s performance.

Those who parked in the Liberty Street Garage Thursday night and were charged the $5 fee can get a full refund by stopping by the Parking Services Office at 100 E. Bryan St., located at Bryan and Abercorn streets. Bring a Disney on Ice ticket stub from Thursday or Liberty Street Garage parking receipt. Or call Parking Services at 912-651-6470.
