[ARCHIVED] Residents advised to take precautions during freeze warning

For Immediate Release
Date: November 13, 2013

The City of Savannah advises residents to turn off their automatic sprinkler systems and reduce their outdoor water usage in response to the cooler weather we are experiencing.

A freeze warning has been issued from 8 p.m. this evening until 9 a.m. Thursday. Temperatures will drop to low- to mid-30s by late today and as low as mid-20s overnight.

As temperatures drop, water run-off from your property can create dangerously icy conditions on our streets and sidewalks. City of Savannah fountains and irrigation systems will be shut down as necessary during these time periods.
