City Offices to Close in Observance of Presidents Day
SAVANNAH (Feb. 14, 2023) – City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed and Monday, Feb. 19 in observance of Presidents Day. Emergency services will remain open.
Sanitation services will be impacted by the holiday closure. Residents can expect the following changes to their schedule:
Residential garbage collection and yard waste collection services as well as recycling services will not run on Monday, Feb. 19. Collection services will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 20, on a one-day delayed schedule. Recycling services will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 20 running Monday’s route. Tuesday’s route will be collected on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
The Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station will both be closed on Monday. Dean Forest Landfill will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 20 on a regular schedule. Bacon Park Transfer Station, which is always closed on Monday and Tuesday, will reopen on Wednesday, Feb. 21. There will be no street sweeping services on Monday. Routes will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 20 on a one-day delay.
Residents are encouraged to consult the sanitation schedule packets disseminated each year and make note of what day sanitation collection will happen on their route. You can find the schedule at savannahga.gov/sanitation.
