For Immediate Release
Date: August 26, 2013

City of Savannah crews responded to a minor sewage spill at 1 Knowlton Way, Sunday, August 25, 2013. The spill was the result of an 8 inch sewage force main failure - split in the pipe. The total volume discharged was 50 gallons. The amount of this spill is classified as a minor spill under State Environmental Protection Division guidelines.

City Water and Sewer crews were notified of the spill at 1:55 p.m. and the spill was corrected at 2:00 p.m. The station was turned off and the storm drainage ditch was contained and the mix of storm drainage and sewage was removed.
