City Celebrates SPLOST Additions to Coffee Bluff Marina
SAVANNAH, GA (July 16, 2019) — The City of Savannah will celebrate the new Rosedew Park as an addition to Coffee Bluff Marina on Friday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m.
Rosedew Park is at the north end of the Coffee Bluff Marina Parking Lot bordered by Back Street and Coffee Bluff Road. It features a playground with trees and benches. In 2008, the City of Savannah City Council acquired the property to ensure public access to Forest River (also known as the Little Ogeechee River). In addition to opening the new park, a sheltered pavilion located at Coffee Bluff Marina will be named “Falligant Pavilion”. The park was originally laid out as part of Dr. L.A. Falligant’s Town of Rosedew according to a Chatham County Engineering Office map from 1887.
The additions to Coffee Bluff Marina align with the priority of Neighborhood Revitalization within the Savannah Forward strategic plan as strengthening neighborhood identity. The renovations were funded by District 6 SPLOST funds.
