City Partners With CEMA to Practice Disaster Exercise
SAVANNAH, GA (February 28, 2019) — The City of Savannah is partnering with Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) to carry out a disaster relief exercise on Wednesday, March 6. The public’s participation in the Points of Distribution Plan is requested.
The City of Savannah and Chatham County will be handing out free samples of disaster supplies. These supplies include bottled water, plastic tarps, and disaster preparedness information. The items represent supplies that may be distributed to the public following a disaster such as a tropical storm or a hurricane. Residents are encouraged to participate in the exercise by driving through the POD to collect the commodities. Community involvement and feedback is vital to this exercise’s success.

When: Wednesday, March 6, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
