Great Savannah Litter Pickup News Conference Set for Saturday, March 2

WHAT:

Great Savannah Litter Pickup News Conference. Members of nearly 75 neighborhood associations and civic organizations will roll up their sleeves on Saturday, March 2, and make Savannah shine during the Great Savannah Litter Pickup. The City of Savannah and its partners will celebrate their efforts during a 1 p.m. news conference, and launch the next phase of Keep Savannah Clean, a community-wide anti-litter campaign and enforcement initiative.

Savannah Mayor Eddie DeLoach, Savannah Police Chief Roy Minter and Parker’s CEO Greg Parker, co-chairman of Keep Savannah Clean, will be among the speakers. The exciting next phase of Keep Savannah Clean will feature television commercials, signs and billboards featuring Savannah stars, as well as a new Police initiative that will hold litterers accountable for their actions.

Keep Savannah Clean is a public-private collaboration under the umbrella of Keep Savannah Beautiful, focused on reducing litter in Savannah by 50 percent through a strategic education, community outreach and enforcement initiative.
