City Cemeteries Host Specialized K9 Training

SAVANNAH, GA (January 28, 2019) — A specialized K9 training course will be hosted in several city-owned cemeteries from January 30 to February 2.

Training will be held in Colonial Park Cemetery on January 30. Laurel Grove North and South Cemeteries will hold training from Thursday, January 31 to Saturday, February 2.  The cemeteries will remain open during training and the public is permitted to attend and observe the training. The K9’s will be off leash during training.

Tennessee-based HRD Specialized K9 Training is the organizer for the training course for K9 grave detection in clandestine and historical contexts. The dogs participating are trained for law enforcement and archaeological searches for human remains.
