City Asks Residents To Dispose of Storm Debris Properly

SAVANNAH, GA (October 11, 2018) — The City of Savannah is asking residents to adhere to a few guidelines when disposing of storm debris. The Department of Sanitation will be picking up storm debris at the same point as regular yard waste collection starting tomorrow. Over the limit fees will be waived temporarily.

The Department of Sanitation asks:

  • Downed limbs are cut to four feet or less and neatly stacked at the regular collection point.
  • Loose leaves must be put in brown paper yard waste bags and set out at the regular collection point
  • Do not place vegetative debris on the street. Persons found doing so will be cited for illegal dumping.
