SAVANNAH, GA (October 3, 2018) — An all-new City Span starts tonight on Savannah Government Television (SGTV – Comcast Channel 8) featuring news and information in, and about, the City of Savannah.

This month, SPLOST projects take the center stage. This revenue stream is funding the new Arena and Canal District. We will go in depth with details of the new “Team” gathered to lead the Arena project. In the 6th district, Windsor Park is nearly complete. Alderman Tony Thomas takes us on a tour of the SPLOST project on Savannah’s Southside.

Also on City Span, we will sit down with Director of Police Roy Minter for a candid conversation on the bright future for the Savannah Police Department and what he’s accomplished so far on the job. SPD also gets a feature with K9 Dooly and Cpl. Ferrero, who competed in the canine Nationals in Huntsville.

City Span looks back with an anniversary feature on Hurricanes Matthew and Irma. Watch the story to see what lessons were learned and how the City of Savannah is stronger and more prepared than ever.

The City of Savannah’s community services departments has taken the lead to bring together organizations, businesses and citizens to help defeat poverty. See phase two of “Connecting the DOTS” only on City Span.
