Bee Road Walking Trail Officially Opened in District 3

SAVANNAH, GA (May 31, 2018) — Today, the City of Savannah officially opened the Bee Road Walking Trail with a sign unveiling led by Mayor Eddie DeLoach and District 3 Alderman John Hall.

Converted from an old laydown yard where crews kept materials while building the Truman Parkway, the City stepped in to beautify the land by installing decorative lighting, park benches, Sign Unveil 2walking paths and by planting over a dozen trees. The cost of the project was $55,000 dollars and was budgeted through SPLOST funds.

“This park is going to contribute to building relationships in these communities, said Mayor Eddie DeLoach. This is a place where folks can come out and relax and enjoy time with each other. “

The opening of the Bee Road Walking Trail aligns with the priority of Neighborhood Revitalization within the Savannah Forward strategic plan. The neighborhoods of Victory Manor, East Hill, Donwood, Live Oak, Benjamin Van Clark and Winter Garden are all within close proximity to the Bee Road Walking Trail.

Alderman John Hall took a moment to say a special thank you to former Alderwoman Mary Osborne. He said, “This was a special project for her. I know she would be all smiles to see this today.”
