Mayor Edna Jackson joined City employees on Rousakis Plaza Tuesday for the official kick off of the L.E.A.N. Challenge, an 8-week team-based fitness competition designed to get City employees and their families in shape. Forty-four teams with 4 to 6 members each, are competing for prizes throughout an 8-week competition that runs through June 14. L.E.A.N. Challenge, stands for Leadership, Exercise, Activity, & Nutrition. Its goal is to get employees and their families to embrace new habits improving nutrition and physical activity. Collectively, team members have pledged to lose almost 900 pounds during the two-month competition.
The Challenge is co-sponsored by the City of Savannah, the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Healthy Savannah and Cerner Health Wins. The L.E.A.N.
