The City of Savannah, in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), will hold a Location and Design PIOH for P.I. # 0008358, 0008359, 0010236 also known as Project DeRenne. On Tuesday, April 23 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the public is invited to view the materials, ask questions, and provide written or verbal comments on the proposed roadway improvements. The open house will be held at Savannah Technical College, in the Eckberg Auditorium located at 5717 White Bluff Road in Savannah.
This is a chance for the public to make formal comments on these proposed changes to reduce congestion along I-516/DeRenne Avenue by constructing a new connector road between I-516 and White Bluff Road. Also included in the project are median improvements and other streetscape changes along DeRenne Avenue from Montgomery Street to the Harry S. Truman Parkway.
The purpose of this open house is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed project improvements, ask questions, and comment on the project. It will be informal and the public is invited to drop in any time from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be no formal presentation.
