[ARCHIVED] Registration now open for 2013 Youth Summit

For Immediate Release
Date: April 5, 2013

The City of Savannah and Chatham County will hold the 2013 Youth Summit on Monday, May 13 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Savannah Civic Center. Local youth between the ages of 11-20 and their parents are invited to attend. A free dinner will be provided to participants, but pre-registration is required.

Students who attend and participate in the summit will receive community service hours. Please register online by May 6 at savannahga.gov/youthsummit. Parents are not required to attend with their children, but those that do will participate in a special parents’ forum held concurrently.

Participants will work within groups to discuss the specific challenges and needs of Savannah’s youth. The ideas brought forth by the discussion groups will be presented to City and County elected officials during the close of the evening. Ultimately, the information gathered at the event will help contribute to a strategic action plan for local youth issues.
