[ARCHIVED] Great Savannah Cleanup moves to Fernwood/Parkwood/Sunset Neighborhoods

Date: April 5, 2017

The City of Savannah is joining forces with local residents and other organizations for a neighborhood cleanup in the Fernwood, Parkwood and Sunset Neighborhoods on Saturday, Apr. 8 from 9 a.m. til 1 p.m. as part of the Great Savannah Cleanup. The event will kick off at 9 a.m. at the Unity Church, 2320 Sunset Blvd. and will include a cleanup, health/information fair and cookout. The boundaries are the lane from N. Fernwood Drive to N. Parkwood Drive and Sunset to Country Road.

Participating entities include the City of Savannah Sanitation, Community Planning and Development, Property Maintenance department, Savannah Fire & Emergency Services, SCMPD, Operation Clean Sweep, residents and volunteers from Savannah State University. The Great Savannah Cleanup runs through May 31 in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup.

Residents can help organize cleanups and beautification projects in their neighborhood by calling Operation Clean Sweep Coordinator Pauline V. Haywood at (912) 658-6795.
