The City of Savannah Parks and Recreation Services Department hosted an Easter Egg Hunt today in Daffin Park for children in the Supervised Playground Program. About 300 kids participated, hunting eggs in the grassy fields by Grayson Stadium. City employees dyed 2,000 eggs in preparation for the event. Not a single egg was left behind by the intrepid hunters.
The Supervised Playground Program is coordinated by Ms. Edith Crawford, a 37-year veteran employee of the City. The program provides adult supervision for children ages 6-14 at 16 playground locations throughout Savannah. Children take part in sports, games, arts and crafts, and seasonal activities such as recreational swimming at City pools during the summer.
