The City of Savannah’s Research Library & Municipal Archives will be hosting “Carver Village History Round-Up Days,” a series of history collecting sessions aimed at documenting the unique story of the Carver Village neighborhood and surrounding community for preservation in the City’s Municipal Archives where it will be accessible to all citizens and future generations of Savannahians.
Current and former residents are invited to stop by and share their memories of Carver Village. A photograph digitization station will be available for participants to have their photographs and two-dimensional memorabilia digitized and an oral history station will be recording participants memories of the community through mini-oral history interviews. The Library & Archives is interested in documenting: what the neighborhood looked like at different times in history, particularly its early years; community events and activities; community leaders; area churches; area businesses; and area schools.
