What: City Officials will join neighborhood representatives to celebrate the proud history of Carver Village and its pending nomination for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places
When: Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m.
Where: Historic Carver Village Neighborhood Center, 905 Collat Avenue
Who: District 1 Alderman Van Johnson, II, who represents the area, will be joined by Mayor Eddie DeLoach, City Manager Stephanie Cutter, neighborhood leaders and City staff.
Why: For the past three years the City of Savannah, the MPC, and the Carver Village Neighborhood Association have worked to document the historic resources of Carver Village, located on Savannah’s westside. The City and MPC have now taken the next step and completed its submission to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for inclusion of this neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places.
