Parklets
Overview
The City of Savannah recognizes that Parklets provide an innovative solution for businesses and residents to enhance the use of public space. Parklets transform on-street parking spaces into attractive areas for seating, dining, and socializing. These small, park-like spaces are designed to support local businesses while maintaining pedestrian flow and ensuring safety.
Guidelines and Requirements
Parklet installations must comply with the City of Savannah's design standards, safety protocols, and public right-of-way regulations. Key requirements include ensuring accessibility, providing public seating, and adhering to size limitations.
Demonstrating neighborhood support for any proposed Parklet project is an essential part of the process. Applications which do not include documentation of community outreach to the adjacent businesses, business association, and/or neighborhood association will not be considered. Full consensus in support of a proposed Parklet from every property on the block is not a requirement for a proposal to move forward, but it's important to demonstrate adequate community outreach.

Application Process
To apply for a Parklet in the City of Savannah, businesses must adhere to specific guidelines outlined in the Parklet Policy linked below. Please contact Real Estate Services staff at 912-651-6524 for information on the application process or feel free to submit your initial application here.
Parklet Fee Structure
Application and Permit Processing Fee | $300.00 |
Parking Space Rental First Space/year | $3,000.00 |
Parking Space Rental Second Space/year | $1,500.00 |
The fees listed above will be assessed during the permit application process. A $300 processing fee is due upon conditional approval of your parklet application. Yearly rental fees are billed as shown for up to two parking spaces for the parklet. ALL fees must be paid prior to any interruption to the parking spaces requested.
Digital Permitting
Digital permitting via eProval is coming soon! The City of Savannah will update this page once the system is available. All Parklet applications will be submitted and processed through this online platform once available.
