July 5, 2017 Update

Posted on July 5, 2017 at 2:44 PM by Saja Aures

Paving crews have completed paving for the next phase of the project.  Lane striping is nearly complete and RR crews are adjusting the RR signal at the rail road tracks to accommodate the traffic shift.

Traffic Shift Thursday!
Starting at about 9 a.m. on Thursday 07/06/17, all four lanes of traffic will shift onto the future westbound lanes side of the new bridge. Westbound traffic heading into town will traverse the new President Street roadway in its final configuration (north half of the roadway). This shift will be necessary for crews to construct the next bridge phase that will serve future eastbound traffic. After traffic moves to the north side, McLendon’s crews will make final pavement modifications to the future eastbound lanes, add curbing and gutter and then it will be time for landscaping. Please observe the 20 MPH speed limit in the construction area.

President Street bridge (north half). Traffic is currently traveling on the next bridge phase.
