Posted on November 10, 2015 at 8:37 AM by Saja Aures

Surcharge material continues to be placed along the south side of President Street and General McIntosh Boulevard.  This material will continue to be placed over the next few weeks until design surcharge elevation heights are reached.  In addition, a grading crew has been excavating the new wetland enhancement pond located just northeast of the General McIntosh and President Street intersection.

Additional work at the New Congress Street and General McIntosh intersection will continue this week as crews remove and replace, as well as, install new curb and gutter and sidewalk along General McIntosh at new roadway grades.

Crews continue to jack and bore steel casings underneath the railroad tracks and future Bilbo Canal, just south of President Street and west of Truman Parkway.

Construction continues on the new reinforced concrete Bilbo Canal walls.  An additional section of the eastern Bilbo Canal wall is being poured this week.  Construction of this eastern canal wall will continue south from President Street over the next few weeks.

A utility crew continues with the installation of new 24” water main on the far east end of the project (east of Truman Parkway and south of President Street).  This crew will also be installing the new 24” sewer force main along this same route.
