Project DeRenne Mitigation
What is Mitigation? Mitigation is a proactive approach to lessening or reducing the severity, size, or likelihood of environmental impacts because of Project DeRenne.
The following mitigation measures have been developed and incorporated into the project’s mitigation plan so far:
Relocation Assistance Program (RAP)
Tatemville Noise Barrier
Use of Savannah brick on noise barriers
Decorative concrete stamping on flyover ramps
Written narrative examining the history of the Tatemville Historic District
Permanent Archival Records of historic resources that will be impacted by the proposed project including the University Place Historic District, Tatemville Historic District, and the Davis and Watkins Properties.
Historic context that describes the mid-20th-century suburbanization along the DeRenne Avenue corridor
Improved bicycle and pedestrian accommodations (10-foot multi-use path)
Frontage Road with vegetative buffer placed along Hampstead Avenue
Mitigation Survey
To date, several mitigation measures have been implemented by the project team in response to public comments. To fully consider community needs in the Project DeRenne Mitigation Plan, we request your input on additional mitigation measures that could be made as part of the project.
