A list of previous updates released by the City of Savannah.

600 – 500 Block of East 54th Street: All storm pipe installations have been completed. All waterline and water quality test have been successfully completed. The contractor will continue to switch resident over to the new watermain system followed by the paving of East 54th Street by end of May beginning of June 2025. The anticipated time for the reopening of East 54th Street to traffic is June 2025.

600 Block of East 56th Street: The temporary waterline installation has been completed. Storm pipe installation is ongoing, will be followed by waterline installations, and grading work. Estimated time of completion for grading is September 2025.

300 Block of East 57th Street: Storm sewer work is ongoing. Waterline installations anticipated to begin in late May 2025. 

Work to Begin on 300 Block of East 57th Street: The 300blk of East 57th Street will see the installation of a new storm pipe, upgraded watermain system, and new pavement. Mobilization and staging of equipment will begin 4/24/2025. Anticipated time of completion for the 300blk of East 57th Street is early Summer 2025.

East 56th Street Updates: Installation of (2) 72-inch pipes beneath East 56th Street is underway. Construction is currently ongoing at 600blk of East 56th Street.

Construction Delays: Water main breaks have caused a pause in construction. A temporary water system has been installed to minimize disruptions to residents and to allow construction to continue more efficiently. Transition to temporary system is expected by late April to early May 2025.

Anticipated completion for the installation of the (2) 72-inch pipes on the 600 block of East 56th Street: Late August to Early September 2025.
