Request for Proposals: Violence Reduction Program Grants
The City of Savannah has prioritized the safety and wellbeing of our youth. The City’s goal is “to keep young people alive, out of jail, and safe at home, school, or the workplace.” Youth gun and other violence is a threat to the wellbeing of our youth and must be addressed through a collective effort across all sectors of government and the community.
To achieve this goal, the City of Savannah Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement is making funding available to support community programs, services and initiatives directly focused on reducing gun violence among Savannah’s youth and young adults. Priority will be given to services targeting ages 12 to 24, who have been or are identified as being at risk of involvement in gun or other violence.
Applying organizations must be legally formed not-for-profit (non-profit) entities registered in the state of Georgia. Proposals may receive an award up to a maximum of $75,000 for allowable expenses, with no more than 15% of grant funds eligible for administrative costs directly related to the program/project. Applications will be considered based on the merit of the program/project and the ability of the program to achieve measurable results, meet a priority need, and aid in reducing youth gun and other violence. Grant awards may be less than the amount requested.
