Savannah Fire Partners with the Red Cross to Promote Fire Safety

 

SAVANNAH, GA (Friday, March 19, 2021) – The Savannah Fire Department has partnered with the Red Cross to help prevent fires in Savannah’s high fire risk neighborhoods.  During the Red Cross virtual fire prevention effort, from April 8 through May 8, American Red Cross volunteers will meet with Savannah residents by appointment outside their homes to share fire safety information and help them create an escape plan to practice their two-minute fire drill. Savannah Firefighters will install free smoke alarms as requested. To make an appointment, for the Red Cross virtual fire safety program, sign up today at www.redcross.org/GAHomesMadeSafer.  

 

To kick off the targeted outreach program, next week Savannah Firefighters and Red Cross volunteers will be sharing fire safety information, installing smoke alarms and making appointments for the Red Cross virtual fire safety program in the following communities:

 

Wednesday, March 24, 3 p.m.- 6 p.m.: Cuyler-Brownsville Neighborhood

Thursday, March 25, 3 p.m.- 6 p.m.: Metropolitan Neighborhood

Friday, March 26, 3 p.m.- 6 p.m.: Liberty City Neighborhood
