West 39th Street Fire
SAVANNAH, GA (Thursday, June 25, 2020) – At 10:40 a.m., Thursday, June 25, the Savannah Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in the 500 Block of W. 39th Street. Truck 5 was first on scene. Firefighters discovered a fire in a vacant structure and quickly extinguished it. Savannah Fire investigators determined that two people were inside the structure without permission and accidentally started the fire. Evidence of drug use was found in the area where the fire began. The case was handed over to Savannah Police to pursue criminal charges.
