City Offices to Close Monday in Observance of Labor Day

 City Offices to Close Monday in Observance of Labor Day

 

SAVANNAH – City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed Monday, Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day. Emergency services will remain open.

Sanitation services will be affected by the holiday closure. Residents can expect the following changes to their schedule: 

Residential garbage collection and yard waste collection services will not run on Monday, Sept. 2. Collection services will resume on Tues., Sept. 3 and proceed on a one-day delayed schedule. Street sweepers will not run on Monday, Sept. 2. Regular service will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 3. There will be no recycling service on Monday, Sept. 2. Monday service will pick up on Tuesday, Sept. 3, Tuesday service will pick up on Wednesday, Sept. 4.  

Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station will both be closed on Monday, Sept. 2. Dean Forest Landfill will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 7 a.m. Bacon Park Transfer Station will reopen Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 9 a.m. for regular operation.  

Residents are encouraged to consult the Sanitation schedule packets disseminated each year and make note of what day sanitation collection will happen on their route. You can find the schedule at savannahga.gov/sanitation. For more information, call (912) 651-6579.
