Savannah is in a privileged location served by a great rail system. While it is well utilized for the transportation of cargo, it provides virtually no options for commuting passengers. People from Hinesville Pooler or Richmond Hill, could save a lot of time, money and fuel, cut down pollution and congestion if they could ride a rail cart to Savannah.
I'd love to go with the family or friends to enjoy a nice meal, couple of drinks downtown and get back home safely, but I simply can't, because my only option is to take a cab, that simply makes it prohibitive. It would save a lot of time from folks stuck in traffic on 516 and 204 in the mornings and afternoons. I’d rather spend one hour riding in a rail cart reading the news or catching up on emails, than fighting through traffic to get to or from work. I'm sure that the argument against it is the cost, but I wonder how much does it cost to expand the roads to accommodate the extra traffic?
