This is the 21st century and online payment for water bill is still not offered for the city of savannah. I think COS would see a huge improvement on timely payments if this service was offered. I know I would have my payment in earlier with this service. This is my only bill that I still have to write a check for or literally go pay in cash. It's archaic! I know I'm not the first person to ask about this. I'm one of many that would really appreciate this service being offered.

Monthly Cleaning: Both Bridges on Hwy 17, coming in from SC were a joy to drive on this morning. Thank You to whomever was responsible! It is dangerous enough but, the added obsticles of blocks, vehicle body parts and timber are too much. It's sad to think that the only way it got cleaned is because of the Bridge Run tomorrow, but whatever it takes. It would be so great if Georgia's DOT would do an imminent domain in Jasper County and just fix both the Back River Bridge and Hwy 17. Thank You for the cleaning last night!

My "great idea" would be to more clearly mark areas that are considered "No Parking" zones in the River St. area.
Yes, during a recent visit I received a parking citation while parking among 20 more vehicles in an area listed on the citation as "00 East Broad Ramp".
While I admit I did in fact park in that area, I did not see a "No Parking" sign posted anywhere close. I attempted to contact the City of Savannah Mobility & Parking Services Dept. today (2/18 President's Day, yes they were closed for the holiday) and went to their automated attendant that does not accept voicemails.
Then, I contacted a nice lady in the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department who readily admitted the area was not clearly marked as a "No Parking" zone, and that I would need to contact the Mobility and Parking Services Dept. at a later date to discuss.
Fortunately it's only a $15 citation that will not "break the bank". But it will have second thoughts before visiting Savannah again.

I am overwhelmed at the vast number of people I see driving and not using their turn signal and creating a public hazard. These laws do not seem to be enforced and in fact I have seen officers not using their blinkers. Is this not a state law to use turn signals when turning in any circumstance? Why is this law not enforced? ONLY when this law is enforced will these hazardous and negligent individuals stop breaking this law. Let's do the right thing and start an initiative to begin enforcing a law that when not used properly places other drivers at risk. We seem to enforce a seat belt law with greater concern that this and that in my opinion is just plain wrong!

No problem as that's nonsense but as a dining patron I feel it's a violation of health code to have non-service animals next to other diners tables. I'm feeling a sneeze coming on already. Thank you for your ruling. The Thunderbird Hotel was also a part of the discussion. Thank you.

The result continues to be TERRIBLE customer service. The best solution for this problem is competition...I, for one, am beyond frustrated with Comcast. wait times are 30 minutes on the phone and 1 hour at their office. And these times are for any day of the week and any time of day. The 6 weeks of good behavior at the time the Comast contract was up for renewal sure fooled our city council & mayor....hope they aren't so gullible when it's renewal time again.

We are seeking input from residents, both in-person, at two upcoming public meetings, and here online in Community Voice. The feedback received through this process will be reviewed by the Tourism Advisory Committee to assist in the development of the ordinance which will be presented to City Council for formal consideration.

In Chattanooga, Tn The Coolidge Park has Fountains that Children can play safely in as does the front area to the Aquarium on Riverfront Pkwy. Providing another means for the children with stiff Fines for Parent/Guardian who violate the no access to the present Fountain at Forsyth will be a "win-win" for all. Pleas do not remove the Fountain as many folks I know enjoy the Beauty it brings.

The lights need to be fixed and working on the Exit 164A from I-16 to I-516 and lights need to be added on both sides along Veterans Parkway from I-516 to 204/Abercorn. It is very dangerous along these routes at night and often the only way to see is with high beams which is not at all courteous or safe for the drivers approaching for the opposite direction. This really needs to be addressed. The roads don't have the proper amount of reflective paint on them either. There would be less accidents if the drivers could see the roads properly.

Savannah is in a privileged location served by a great rail system. While it is well utilized for the transportation of cargo, it provides virtually no options for commuting passengers. People from Hinesville Pooler or Richmond Hill, could save a lot of time, money and fuel, cut down pollution and congestion if they could ride a rail cart to Savannah.
I'd love to go with the family or friends to enjoy a nice meal, couple of drinks downtown and get back home safely, but I simply can't, because my only option is to take a cab, that simply makes it prohibitive. It would save a lot of time from folks stuck in traffic on 516 and 204 in the mornings and afternoons. I’d rather spend one hour riding in a rail cart reading the news or catching up on emails, than fighting through traffic to get to or from work. I'm sure that the argument against it is the cost, but I wonder how much does it cost to expand the roads to accommodate the extra traffic?

I believe that the city of Savannah should offer an financial hardship program for residents twice a year. There are times when people fall on hard times and can't afford to pay a bill. They may have good intentions, but just don't have the funds. The water company should allow them to join the hardship program which will allow them to agree to a payment that they can afford. For example: It's December 30 and you are all tapped out from the holidays. You should be able to call them and say you would like to sign up for the payment plan and they break your bill up into 3 portions so you could get caught up. It may seem like you are paying forever, but at least you are paying something. I am from another state and they are willing to help their community to make sure that the elderly, disabled, children, homeless, and low income people are not forgotten. The beauty of the program is it can help the middle class people too in their time of need. Its so sad they lack programs to help.

I'm a new resident to the shopping district. On any given Friday or Saturday night (and most week nights and days) multiple cars with stereo's grossly exceeding the city noise ordinances can be heard driving the city streets. This extends as late as 4:00 AM on some nights. These stereos are so loud, the cars can literally be heard approaching 2 blocks or more away. I've noticed repeat offenders - that is, the same vehicles repeatedly breaking the law. This is highly annoying as a resident, and embarrassing when I bring friends, family and colleagues to Savannah to visit. Why are the police not actively targeting the operators of these vehicles?

As a resident of city of Savannah, it's impossible to ignore the traffic congestion problem Savannah residents face at specific intersection like W Derenne Ave - Abercorn Street.
I have noticed some observations that are the main reason for the traffic congestion at these areas, some are:
* Short green light for the northbound traffic that is coming from Abercorn and turning left to W Derenne Ave.
Solution is give enough time for traffic to pass by making the green light stay longer than what it is now.
* I have seen most of the left turn traffic lights on intersections stops traffic from making left turn while there is no opposite traffic coming thru which does not make sense. In cities like Atlanta, left turn traffic light allow traffic to make left turn when there is no opposite traffic coming thru which helps clear out most traffic congestions at most intersections.
I hope someone from city of Savannah take these suggestions into considerations .
