[ARCHIVED] Savannah’s Fashion Night to transform Broughton Street

Broughton Street will once again be transformed into a pedestrian-only showcase of local fashion, art, music and design during the fourth annual Savannah’s Fashion Night the evening of Thursday, Sept. 4.

From 6:30 to 11 p.m., fashion shows and live music will take place on outdoor stages set up along Broughton, and boutiques will create their own unique events and promotions. Free parking is available at all meters and in the Civic Center Parking Lot during the event. Parking in the Bryan, Whitaker, Robinson, and State Street Garages – all located within one block of Broughton – is a flat $2 fee.

Retailers participating in the 2014 Savannah’s Fashion Night include: Bleubelle Boutique, Charleston Shoe Company, Civvies, Copper Penny, fab’rik, Go Fish Clothing, Half Moon Outfitters, Ivory & Beau, J. Parker Ltd., Kathi Rich, M Liz Designs, Mamie Ruth Designs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Matilda Jane, One Eleven Boutique, Palm Avenue, Paris Market, Pretty & Peach Boutique, Rivers & Glen, Sara Jane Children’s Boutique, Satchel, Sylvester & Co., Terra Cotta, Trunk 13, Veronica’s Closet, Villa Savannah and Zia Boutique.

The retail store fab’rik, owned by Savannah’s Fashion Night co-founder Bree Thomas, will be hosting a fab-chella event featuring a pop-up shop with local designers from Satchel, a Dollface by Jules lip station, henna tattoo station, and giveaways such as a fab’rik merchandise swag bag.

Some retailers will be unveiling new locations, innovative campaigns and updated storefronts. Sara Jane Children’s Clothing will present a new Airstream fashion truck on the corner of Bull and Broughton streets for Savannah Fashion’s Night and simultaneously launching their mobile store campaign for busy parents in the surrounding Savannah area.

“Fashion trucks are the next big thing, like food trucks,” says Sara Jane Strickland, owner of Sara Jane Children’s Boutique. “It’s going to be an extension of our store, carrying clothing sizes from newborn to children’s size 12.”

Chaco, a national outdoor footwear brand, has joined on as a sponsor for Savannah’s Fashion Night 2014. In conjunction with their Chaco Fit for Adventure Bus Tour, Chaco will be stopping in Savannah on Savannah’s Fashion Night and partnering with Halfmoon Outfitters as a part of their 25th anniversary celebration. Not only will Chaco be handing out great giveaways, they will also exhibit “The Trip of a Lifetime”, a Chaco tour bus display.

Other planned in-store exhibits include a manicure spa experience at Marc Jacobs with their new make-up line, Marc Jacobs Beauty, and new product launches at Terra Cotta from Only Hearts, Hazel, and Coco Ninno. Retailers will be holding raffles for in-store giveaways as well.This event is free and open to the public, although VIP passes are available to shoppers that spend $75 or more at any of the participating retailers, which will grant access to the VIP tent and exclusive entertainment performances. Since 2011, the first Thursday of September has been dedicated to produce a shopping event in hopes of boosting the local economy.
