[ARCHIVED] Truman Linear Park Trail: Public Information Open House

On November 7, 2013 between 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Bible Baptist Church Social Hall located at 4700 Skidaway Road, Savannah Georgia, 31404, the Chatham County Department of Engineers with the support of the City of Savannah and Georgia Department of Transportation will hold a Public Information Open House for the Truman Linear Park Trail, Phase 2 project.
The Public Information Open House will be open to the public to review the proposed project plans, ask questions, and comment on the proposal.

Background:
The Truman Linear Park Trail, Phase 2 project proposes to connect the Police Memorial Trail to Lake Mayer. Phase 2 is approximately 4.8 miles in length and varies in width from 8ft-10ft. The path will consist of retrofitting existing sidewalks and a new 10-ft wide asphalt path. Canals will be crossed with timber bridges and wetlands will be crossed using timber boardwalks. The Phase 2 improvements also include improving intersection crossings to safely accommodate pedestrians. The current project schedule anticipates construction contract being awarded in December 2015.
