WHAT: Dedication Ceremony and Sign Unveiling for the John Henry Murphy Park.
WHEN: 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 21
WHERE: Dover Circle at Arlington Road
WHO: District 6 Alderman Tony Thomas, City Manager Stephanie Cutter, members of Mr. Murphy’s family and residents of the Windsor Forest community will join with City staff.
WHY: The Windsor Forest Area Neighborhoods Association requested to rename Dover Circle Park, a passive park located off of Arlington Road in Windsor Forest at the junction of Dover Circle, to John Henry Murphy Park. Mr. Murphy was the first association president of the Windsor Forest Neighborhood Association in 1997 and remained a tireless worker for the volunteer board until his death on June 5, 2010.
