SCAC Spotlight Program Applications Now Open
Early 2024 Dates Open, More To Be Announced
SAVANNAH (Oct. 26, 2023) – The Savannah Cultural Arts Center has opened applications for the 2024 Spotlight Facility Use Program.
Spotlight, an initiative from the City of Savannah Cultural Resources department, provides a subsidy for nonprofit organizations to purchase rental space at a free or discounted rate from the Savannah Cultural Arts Center on select dates.
Subsidy amounts are based on an organization’s operating budget. Organizations will receive rental space along with audio/visual technical and administrative support staff. All Spotlight programming will be free and open to the public.
“The Savannah Cultural Arts Center is a gem of a facility,” Stuart Miller director of Cultural Resources said. “With this program, we look forward to creating more opportunities for our local arts community and organizations to take advantage of our state-of-the-art performance spaces by bringing their own talents to our stage.”
The program offers reduced or free performance rental rates for a range of program formats, including theatre productions, musical ensembles, dance performances, literary programs, and culturally based projects.
Interested groups are encouraged to join the Cultural Resources department for an information session on Thursday, Nov. 2 at noon. The session will be held in person at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center, 201 Montgomery St, and virtually.
This application period includes dates in the first half of 2024, with later 2024 dates to be announced in the spring.
Available weekends for Spotlight are:
- Thursday, Feb. 22 - Saturday, Feb. 24
- Thursday, March 21 - Saturday, March 23
